Week 15 Pricing Analyst Update – Carrie Ho – APAC – Jet Fuel
‘- Singapore jet fuel flat price slipped $2.24/bl on the week to $216.36/bl on 9 Apr, with cash differentials down $6.69/bl to $29.43/bl.
– Jet prices fell less than gasoil, as regrade strengthened back into positive territory on 9 Apr.
– Buyers reported better jet availability and softer offers early in the week, reflecting more comfortable regional supply.
– China’s jet exports into Hong Kong (a major aviation hub) remained steady, helping cap upside in Asia despite broader Middle East risk.
– Trump’s whipsawing comments (threat to “end” Iranian “civilisation” if talks failed, followed by a two‑week ceasefire announcement tied to reopening Hormuz) injected volatility and kept many traders sidelined.
– Traders remain cautious: if Hormuz flows fail to normalise or Red Sea disruptions worsen, jet prices and premiums could quickly retest recent highs.
