W. Africa Crude-Differentials steady

“Heavier Arab Gulf crudes are landing comparatively attractively into the Far East, especially when compared to medium-density barrels out of West Africa, Europe, or the Americas,” Sparta analyst Philip Jones-Lux said.

Reuters, June 3, 2025 – West African crude differentials remained steady amid competition from Middle Eastern supplies in Asia. Sparta analyst Philip Jones-Lux highlighted that heavier Arab Gulf crudes are landing more attractively in the Far East compared to West African barrels. With Asia importing 50% of Nigerian and Angolan crude exports in 2025, the region remains key for trade flow dynamics.
