Low European prices drive West African gasoline imports to record

“Until the beginning of February, European gasoline was pricing particularly cheaply versus counterparts in the U.S. and Asia,” Sparta analyst Philip Jones-Lux said.

Reuters, February 13, 2024 – Philip Jones-Lux, an analyst at Sparta Commodities, commented that until early February, European gasoline was particularly cheap compared to U.S. and Asian counterparts, driving the record imports to West Africa. However, he expects this flow to slow down in March as the European gasoline market strengthens.
