In an interview with Reuters columnist Clyde Russell, Sparta’s CEO, Felipe Elink Schuurman, demonstrated how Leonidas AI is starting to level a refined fuel trading market that’s stayed closed to all but a small group of established players. During the interview, Leonidas AI assessed the potential impact of a US diesel export ban and returned five trade recommendations, ranked by conviction and spanning multiple markets including freight, in a matter of seconds. Schuurman’s point cuts to the shift underway: information access used to be the edge, now it’s how fast that information becomes a trade. Traders should watch how quickly rivals, and newer entrants such as hedge funds, adopt tools like this, since the edge that used to come from access alone is narrowing fast.
