Europe’s oil market flashes price weakness on refinery halts

“Physical light crude in northwest Europe is weak,” said Neil Crosby, an analyst at Sparta Commodities SA. The move is likely a result of forthcoming refinery maintenance, he added.

Bloomberg, February 10, 2025 – European crude prices hit multimonth lows as refineries enter maintenance season and capacity reductions loom, weakening demand. Neil Crosby from Sparta noted, “Physical light crude in northwest Europe is weak,” attributing the softness to upcoming refinery maintenance.
