- Prices eased across the board as some of the fear-driven premium built up over the past fortnight began to unwind, with the East-West Petroline pipeline reportedly back in use and Iran signalling conditions for restoring Hormuz transit, even as roughly a third of AG oil supply remains missing from the market.
- The US and Iran held their first shuttle talks in months at the UN General Assembly, with Trump calling the exchange “very productive” and signalling momentum for a deal, though Iran’s security chief said hours later that the Strait of Hormuz would stay closed and no negotiations would proceed until Tehran’s conditions are met.
